One of two Lemont High School alumni to represent the United States in the Olympic Games... member of the Canoe/Kayak U.S. National Team from 1985-89, earning several medalist finishes... Silver Medalist in the 1000 meter event at the 1986 Canoe/Kayak Pan American Games... was a member of the 1988 U.S. Olympic Canoe & Kayak Team, and competed in the C-2, 1000-meter event at the 24th Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea... after his competitive career, attended Northern Michigan University and was part of the United States Olympic Education Center... while at Northern Michigan, served as a mentor for aspiring Olympians who were training on-site... since 1988, has served as a member of the United States Olympic Committee and the United States Olympic Alumni Association... was a member of the organization that put together Chicago’s bid for the 2016 Olympic Games... currently promotes Olympic sports locally through World Sports Chicago.
