Athletic Hall of Fame: 2014 and 2016 Baseball Teams

Both teams won IHSA Class 3A State Championships under head coach Brian Storako... the two teams featured 17 future college baseball players and four future professional baseball players... the 2014 squad went 35-5, posting a school season record for wins and reaching the 30-win mark for the first time in program history... Lemont won the South Suburban Conference-Blue Division title, as well as the program’s first-ever IHSA Sectional and IHSA Super-Sectional crowns... Lemont outscored its opponents by a 45-8 margin in the IHSA Playoffs... Ryan Folliard hit a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin, 2-1, in the state championship... Mike Wisz was selected as the 2024 SSC Blue Player of the Year... Jake Latz, Mike Papierski and Mike Wisz all were cited as 2024 Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association Class 3A All-State selections... Jake Latz and Brian Storako were named the IHSBCA Class 3A Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively... Jake Latz (11th round) and Mike Papierski (16th round) each were selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2014 Major League Baseball draft... the 2016 team went 30-9 and reached the 30-win mark for the second time in program history... Lemont won the SSC Blue title and outscored opponents by a 66-10 margin in the IHSA Playoffs... Ryan Sublette set an IHSA Class 3A State Finals record with 14 strikeouts in a 10-2 win over St. Viator in the state semifinal... Garrett Acton homered in the state semifinal, and threw a three-hit shutout to beat Springfield, 10-0, in the state championship game... Garrett Acton and Brian Storako were named the IHSBCA Class 3A Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively... Garrett Acton (35th round) was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 2016 Major League Baseball draft.
