Health

Carson Fischer was selected as the Freshman Student of the Month by the Health Department. Carson is an honor roll student whose favorite classes this year have included Integrated Math I, Concert Band, Health, and Technology Concepts. His teachers note he shows great concern for his academic work and values his education. He participates regularly in class, is helpful to his peers, and is personable. Carson is a member of the Drama Club and was cast in both the Fall Play and Winter Play. He also performed with the state runner-up marching band and was part of the Group Interpretation cast that advanced to the IHSA State Finals. In the future, he plans on pursuing a career in computer technology. He enjoys playing chess, baseball, volunteering at church, video games, biking, and working out.

Emilia Kroplewski
Sophomore
Driver Education

The Driver Education Department tabbed Emilia Kroplewski as the Sophomore Student of the Month. A high honor roll performer, Emilia says she most enjoys AP Physics I and Chemistry Honors. An excellent student with a great attitude, she works in and out of class to be the best student possible. She strives for perfection in her work, and has excelled during the Behind the Wheel phase of Driver Education due to the practice she puts in. Emilia is involved in Leo Club, Junior Achievement and Health Occupations Student Association, and she has received 10-year recognition as a Polish dancer. She hopes to earn a degree in engineering, and ultimately wants to become a Disney Imagineer. In her free time, Emilia enjoys reading, dancing and hanging out with friends, and serves as a dance teacher.
Jake Markowski

Special Education

Jake Markowski was cited as the Junior Student of the Month by the Special Education Department. Jake is a high honor roll student who has enjoyed Food Prep and Physical Education, and he is looking forward to taking Journalism and Podcasting next year. He was a member of the Scholastic Bowl team that won the 2023 South Suburban Conference-Blue Division title, and also is involved with Student Council and the Yearbook. Jake puts in a lot of hard work in order to progress toward his academic and personal goals, advocating for himself while seeking out opportunities to learn and grow. He hopes to become a journalist or sportscaster, and dreams of appearing on “Jeopardy!”. Jake likes playing video games, attending sporting events, working out, attending autism events at College of DuPage, and recording his podcast.

Anthony Montalto

Student Services

The Student Services Department named Anthony Montalto as the Senior Student of the Month. Anthony is a high honor roll student who most enjoys Robotic Engineering and Woods II. He is a member of the boys’ volleyball program and state-qualifying Mathletes team, and has earned induction to Mu Alpha Theta and National English Honor Society. He also served as Publicity Chair for the National Honor Society and was instrumental in helping it reach its goals for its recent “Lemont v Hunger” food packing event. An Illinois State Scholar, he has been accepted to his dream school and will attend the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, to study computer engineering. He hopes to work in either information technology or high frequency trading. In his free time, Anthony works part-time and enjoys building and repairing computers and graphic design.
